VIETNAT TeaLeaf · For ages 60+

Body wash for seniors, built around five zones.

VIETNAT TeaLeaf Green Tea & Guava Leaf Duo-Active Body Wash is a gentle daily body wash created for adults 60+, when changes in skin chemistry can make body odor feel different from ordinary sweat.

Its targeted formula combines green tea, guava leaf, and zinc ricinoleate to support odor control through complementary mechanisms, while a sulfate-free cleansing base with glycerin helps wash without leaving mature skin feeling overly dry or tight.

Unlike a standard “wash everywhere and rinse” routine, TeaLeaf is designed around the areas where age-related odor may be more noticeable. Lather for 15–20 seconds per zone, focusing on the hairline, behind the ears, back of the neck, upper chest, and upper back.

The easy-pump bottle makes it simple to use every day—so there is no complicated new routine to learn.

Same shower. Smarter wash.

What changes after forty

The compound behind age-related body odor is not sweat.

Researchers at Shiseido identified 2-nonenal in human body odor and found that it tends to increase with age, forming when omega-7 fatty acids on the skin oxidise. It is a different compound from the one behind ordinary sweat odor, which is why an ordinary body wash can leave the impression that something has been missed.

A 2023 paper in Sensors measured the same compound in the gas phase and located it around the sebaceous areas — the nape, behind the ears, the hairline, and the upper chest and back — rather than evenly across the body. Those are the five zones on the label.

The five zones

Wash the right zones, fifteen to twenty seconds each.

Diagram of the five zones: hairline, behind the ears, back of the neck, upper chest and upper back
01 Hairline Along the front and temples, where sebum and residue collect.
02 Behind the ears A fold that ordinary washing tends to pass over.
03 Back of the neck Under the collar, in contact with fabric all day.
04 Upper chest One of the densest areas of sebaceous glands on the body.
05 Upper back Hard to reach, and rarely lathered for long enough.
Lather 15–20 seconds per zone. Daily use.

Duo-active

Three actives, two independent mechanisms.

Most products in this category are built on a single layer of persimmon tannin. TeaLeaf runs two independent mechanisms: two botanical tannins, plus zinc ricinoleate binding by ion complexation.

Mechanism one · botanical tannin

Green Tea

Camellia sinensis leaf extract

Vietnamese green tea leaf, from a growing region with ISO, FSSC, HALAL and KOSHER certification.

Mechanism one · botanical tannin

Guava Leaf

Psidium guajava leaf extract

The leaf, not the fruit — it carries substantially more tannin. In Vietnam it is an agricultural by-product.

Mechanism two · ion complexation

Zinc Ricinoleate

From castor oil

Binds odor molecules through a mechanism unrelated to tannins. In commercial use for over seventy years.

Comparison drawn from our own category review, August 2026. It describes the category, not one named competitor.

The bottle

A pump, because a wet bar of soap slips.

A pump, not a bar

A wet bar of soap slips. The pump is worked with one hand, which matters with arthritis or reduced grip strength.

Wide base, textured grip

The bottle is ribbed for wet hands and stands on a broad base so it does not tip on a shower floor.

Nothing to bend for

Sized for a shower caddy, so the bottle does not live on the floor.

How to use

No complicated new routine to learn.

01

Pump once into wet hands

The pump works one-handed, wet or soapy. No bar to grip.

02

Lather 15–20 seconds per zone

Work the five zones in order instead of washing everywhere at once. Contact time is the point.

03

Rinse, and repeat tomorrow

A daily-use formula. Same shower, same length — a different order.

If you are buying it for yourself

It replaces the body wash already in your shower. Nothing else about your routine changes, and the bottle does not announce itself on the shelf.

If you are buying it for a parent

It arrives as an ordinary body wash, because it is one. The five-zone routine explains itself without turning into a conversation about a problem.

Questions

Answers, in plain terms.

Who is this made for?

Adults 60+, when changes in skin chemistry can make body odor feel different from ordinary sweat. It is an everyday body wash, not a treatment.

How is it different from the body wash I use now?

A standard routine is “wash everywhere and rinse”. TeaLeaf is designed around the five areas where age-related odor may be more noticeable, with 15–20 seconds of lather per zone. The formula also carries three actives rather than a plain cleansing base.

Does it replace my deodorant?

No. It is a body wash for the shower, and it replaces the body wash you already use rather than anything else in your routine.

Will it dry my skin?

The cleansing base is sulfate-free and includes glycerin, which helps wash without leaving mature skin feeling overly dry or tight.

Is it fragranced?

It is a gentle daily cleanse. The odor-control approach is to bind odor molecules rather than to cover them, so it does not rely on a heavy fragrance.

How long does one bottle last?

The bottle holds 9 FL OZ / 266 ML. At one pump a day across five zones, most people finish it in about two months.

Can I use it on my face?

This is a body wash. For the face, keep the routine you already use.

Has it been clinically tested on 2-nonenal?

No, and we will not say otherwise. The chemistry of each active is documented in published literature; the finished formula has not been through an independent clinical trial.
