VIETNAT GOLDENROOT · For ages 60+
Targeted care for bruised, delicate skin.
GOLDENROOT Revive Cream is daily care for the marked, delicate-looking skin on the forearms, hands and lower legs — the places where thin skin shows every ordinary knock.
It carries the two ingredients this category is built on, Arnica Montana and Vitamin K1, and then goes further: Centella Asiatica and Vietnamese turmeric, the two actives in the formula with the stronger published evidence behind them.
Genuinely fragrance-free — no added fragrance and nothing to mask one. A light cream at pH 5.5 that sinks in without a film, made to be used twice a day on skin that is easily irritated.
Bruise-focused care that cares for the skin, too.
Why it happens more often now
Thin skin shows what thicker skin used to hide.
Dermatologists have a name for chronically fragile skin in later life: dermatoporosis. Two French studies put it at between 30.7 and 37.5 per cent of adults over sixty. The dermis thins, the support around small blood vessels loosens, and a knock against a door frame leaves a mark that would not have shown at forty.
Medication is often part of the picture. In one Turkish study of 126 patients with dermatoporosis, 41.3 per cent were taking an anticoagulant. If that describes you, this cream is made with your skin in mind — and your doctor is still the right person to ask before you start anything new.
GOLDENROOT is a cosmetic cream for the look and condition of that skin. It is not a medicine and it does not treat an underlying cause. Marks that appear without a knock, spread quickly, or come with pain or swelling belong in a conversation with your doctor.
Where it shows
Three places, and one that most creams ignore.
What is in it
Two names you came looking for, and two that carry the evidence.
Nearly every cream in this category is built on arnica and vitamin K alone. We keep both, at sensible levels, because they are what people look for. Then we add the two actives with the stronger published science behind them.
What the category is built on
Arnica Montana
Arnica montana flower extract · 2–3%
Long used topically to settle the surface of marked skin, and the ingredient shoppers in this category ask for by name.
What the category is built on
Vitamin K1
Phylloquinone · 0.5–1%
The other name on nearly every jar in this aisle. It is in the formula because you expect it to be.
Where the stronger evidence is
Centella Asiatica
Vietnamese gotu kola · 2–4%
Published work shows centella stimulating collagen and fibronectin synthesis in human skin fibroblasts — the structure of the skin itself, not just the surface of it.
Where the stronger evidence is
Vietnamese Turmeric
Tetrahydrocurcuminoids · 0.5–1%
Turmeric has been used on marked skin in Vietnam for generations. We use the colourless derivative, so the anti-inflammatory chemistry comes without the yellow stain.
A vitamin C ester adds antioxidant support and works as a cofactor in collagen synthesis. There is no retinol and no fragrance: skin this thin does not need to be pushed, and it does not need anything extra to react to.
Being straight with you
What the research on arnica and vitamin K actually says.
Almost nobody selling a cream like this will tell you the following, so we will. A 2004 paper in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology tested topical vitamin K on bruising after mechanical injury and reported a lack of effect. A 2025 review of arnica montana took a similarly sceptical view of the claims made for it online.
We kept both ingredients anyway, at sensible levels, because they are the two things people in this category look for and leaving them out would just be contrarian. But we do not build the case for this cream on them, and we do not claim they do more than the evidence supports.
The case rests on centella asiatica and turmeric, where the published work is stronger, and on the plain fact that delicate skin is easier to look after when a daily cream is gentle enough to actually use every day.
Neither the individual ingredients nor this finished formula have been through an independent clinical trial for this use. We will tell you when that changes.
Compared with the category
How it differs from an ordinary arnica cream.
| GOLDENROOT | Typical bruise cream | |
|---|---|---|
| Actives | Arnica + K1, plus centella and turmeric | Arnica and vitamin K alone |
| Fragrance | None — genuinely fragrance-free | Several leading jars contain fragrance |
| Staining | None — colourless turmeric derivative | Not usually addressed |
| Where it is for | Arms, hands and legs — 113 ML | Often a half-ounce pot for face and eyes |
| Retinol | None — deliberately, on skin this thin | Sometimes included |
| On the evidence | Published limits stated on this page | Rarely mentioned |
Comparison drawn from our own category review, August 2026. It describes the category, not one named competitor.
The jar
A wide jar, because thin skin does not want to be rubbed hard.
Wide mouth, shallow bowl
Reachable with a fingertip, and you can see how much is left. No small tube to squeeze with stiff hands.
Broad screw lid
A large flat cap with real grip surface, opened one-handed, with no child-resistant mechanism to fight.
113 ML, sized for daily use
Enough for forearms, hands and shins twice a day. A half-ounce pot priced per ounce is the expensive way to run out.
How to use
Twice a day, gently, over the whole area.
01
A fingertip, morning and evening
Less than you think. It is a light cream, not a balm, and it spreads a long way.
02
Smooth, do not rub
Light strokes across the whole area rather than pressure on one spot. Delicate skin does not want friction.
03
Every day, not only after a knock
This is skincare for delicate skin, so it is used daily. Keep it on the table you actually sit at.
If you are buying it for yourself
It sits on the table with the reading glasses, not in a first-aid box. Two minutes a day, no scent to notice, nothing that stains a sleeve, and nothing on the jar that announces a problem.
If you are buying it for a parent
Marks on the arms are the kind of thing people notice and do not mention. This arrives as ordinary skincare, gentle enough to apply for someone else, which lets the subject stay closed if they want it closed.

Questions
Answers, in plain terms.
Who is this made for?
Adults 60+ with thin, delicate-looking skin that marks easily on the forearms, hands or lower legs — including people taking a blood thinner, who make up a large share of that group. It is a daily cosmetic cream, not a treatment.
Will it make a bruise go away faster?
We will not claim that, and we would be sceptical of anyone who does. The published evidence for topical vitamin K on bruising from a knock is weak, and we say so on this page. GOLDENROOT is cosmetic care for the appearance and condition of delicate skin.
Then why is arnica and vitamin K in it at all?
Because they are the two things people in this category look for, and leaving them out would be contrarian rather than useful. They are in at sensible levels. The case for the cream rests on centella and turmeric, where the published work is stronger.
I take a blood thinner. Can I use it?
Ask your doctor first. It is a topical cosmetic cream with no fragrance and no retinol, but if you are on an anticoagulant that conversation is worth having before you start anything new.
Does the turmeric stain my skin or my clothes?
No, and that is a deliberate formulation choice. We use tetrahydrocurcuminoids, the colourless derivative of turmeric, so the chemistry is there without the yellow pigment.
Why is there no retinol?
Some creams in this category include it. On skin that is already thin and marking easily, we would rather not ask it to turn over faster. There is no fragrance either, for the same reason.
Is it greasy?
No. It is a light cream that sinks in without a film, so it can be used in the morning as well as at night.
Can I use it on my face?
It is formulated for arms, hands and legs. For the face, keep the routine you already use.
How long does one jar last?
4 FL OZ / 113 ML. Used twice a day on forearms and hands, most people finish it in about two months.
